About the Department of National Planning and Monitoring

The Department of National Planning and Monitoring (DNPM) is responsible for leading Papua New Guinea’s development planning. We design national plans that help guide the government in using resources wisely to build better roads, schools, hospitals, and services for everyone.

We work together with government agencies, development partners, businesses, and communities to identify the most important projects. Our goal is to make sure that every Papua New Guinean, no matter where they live, benefits from development and growth.

Our Department also monitors the progress of these projects to make sure they are completed on time, within budget, and deliver real results. We provide honest advice to improve project delivery and ensure that every kina spent makes a positive difference.

At DNPM, we believe that good planning creates real opportunities. Through transparency, fairness, and strong teamwork, we are helping to build a better tomorrow for all Papua New Guineans.
